They told me to follow
And so I did
Down the dark path
To the rabbit hole.

It shouts in the distance
How there is no time to lose
And I find myself
Breathless
And unable to compete.

Off it runs
Oh, how life never ceases
To stop for but a moment
Just like the hands of that
Golden pocketwatch.

Even as I see the porcelain white fur
Rounding the corner
I am constantly delayed
By this and that.

“Eat this, drink that”
I have grown and shrunk
Thin and fat
So many times
That I no longer am sure
Of what I am supposed to be

One day I’ll catch it
That funny white rabbit
And some day,
I will finally be free

We'll be having the absolute
Time of our lives
As we celebrate our unbirthdays
With tea.
